Repair dead pixels is now possible on Linux (GNU/Linux) ! LCD Nurse is a free program wich enable you to "heal" dead pixels on your LCD screen thanks to the blink method.
This program is divided in two parts :
- A dead pixel hunter, which enable you to locate the dead pixels : LCD Nurse. You can also fix the pixels from LCD Nurse
- A screen saver, which make these pixels blink : LCD Nurse Saver.
This program is only compatible with UNIX operating systems (Linux, Mac...).

Binaries are programs that can be directly used on your computer. If you just want to try or use LCD Nurse, it's a good choice.
Using the PPA is recomended since you will receive updates automaticaly from your update manager.
You only need to install the PPA (Personal Package Archives) once. In order to do that, you just need to lunch this command :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:colingille/freshlight && sudo apt-get update
Then, you can simply use this apt-url to install LCD Nurse : apt://lcdnurse.
